How to Say What Are You Doing in Arabic

Another commonly used way to ask this question is “Omri shoo kaan?” This phrase can also be translated directly as “What (are) you (doing)?” However, this version of the question implies a more casual tone than its counterpart.

A third option for asking this question is “Ana ba3dee ma tekooni?” This expression could best be described as an inquiry into what someone has been up to lately.

If one wishes to ask about someone else they may use the phrase “Shoo ta’amel?” The literal translation here would be something like “What does he/she do?”
