How Are You Doing in Arabic

In the Arabic language, there are many different ways to say “How are you doing?” Depending on the context and who is speaking, one might choose a more formal or informal way of asking this question. The most common way to ask someone how they are doing in Arabic is by saying “Kayf Halak?”. This phrase translates literally as “How is your state?”

How to Say How Are You Doing in Arabic

“Ilta’amal Ma’aka?” which roughly translates as “What have you been up to?” This version of the question conveys more interest in what somebody has been doing recently.

If you want to ask someone “how are you feeling today?, then an appropriate expression would be “Kifik Ayli?” which means literally “How was your day?” This phrase implies that you want to know how somebody’s entire day was rather than a certain moment.

“Shu Halak?”. This translates directly as “What about you?” However, it should not be confused with its English counterpart since it carries very different connotations when spoken in Arabic.
