You won’t find many more secluded hot springs when it comes to Akutan. Located in the Aleution Islands, this river and creek geothermal area spans several areas for you to relax and enjoy.
From the statovolcano, the discharge moves from the bay into multiple streams and eventually into the ground. Most people venture to the start of the valley near the shore of the bay. There are a total of five different hot and warm springs in the lower section of the valley known as HSBV (Hot Springs Bay Valley).
The natural springs water itself comes out at a piping hot 171 degrees Fahrenheit from the ground. As it moves through the creek and comes up through the sands and sediment, it cools down to a more manageable temperature for you to enjoy.
