It makes sense that a state who has a city called hot springs would host quite a few natural mineral waters to relax in. Originally hot springs national park was formed to preserve the area with the city soon built around it. The Heated Springs
Heated and mineral-rich springs are spread throughout the city. Most of these are managed by various reports, but a few active springs are still open for visitors. Not only do the flowing waters offer numerous health benefits, but can also be drunk without filtration. Spigots have been set up all around the city, dispensing quality drinking water. Even on a cold day, the water from these spigots is still warm.
The Hot Springs Natural Park
Hot Springs National Park is the oldest park in the country, featuring 47 springs and hiking trails spread over more than 30 miles. Once you’re done bathing, you can while away time watching exotic birds at the designated bird watching area. Pets are also allowed in the region.
The Bathhouses
The Bath House Row is jotted with a number of historic buildings, but most of them aren’t used for baths anymore, and mainly serve as information points or visitor centers. Buckstaff is the only operational bathhouse which has its doors open around the year. The rates for accessing the thermal pools are relatively lower when compared to other US cities.
Other Attractions
The Magic Springs Theme and Water Park is a popular attraction if you visit Hot Springs, Arkansas in the summer seasons. Should you plan your visit during the cooler months, check out the Maxwell Blade Theater of Magic, Pirate’s Cove Adventure Golf and Mid America Science Museum, all of which are located on Central Avenue. The Gangster Museum of America is another attraction displaying original artifacts. Tiny Town is a must-visit place for kids in the family. Also, go to the Hot Springs Mountain Tower, and enjoy the breathtaking view of the city and the park from the top.
