Zoos in Phoenix
With one of the most populated cities in the United States, Phoenix is home to one of the best zoos in the nation. Residing on over 125 acres of land, there are over 1,400 animals to enjoy.
The Phoenix Zoo prides itself on educating both locals and visitors on conservations efforts to help protect wildlife. They even have top of the line programs to help endangered species and rehabilitate thinning populations.
As you visit Phoenix Zoo, there are four main sections to explore:
- Tropics Trail
- Arizona Trail
- Children’s Trail
- Africa Trail
Each themed area represents animals from it’s suggested name. The Tropics Trail is home to a wide variety of species commonly found in the Amazonian rain forests. Arizona trail features animals native to the state. The Children’s trail is the most interactive section of the zoo with many areas for both kids and adults to interact and pet the animals. Finally the Africa trail features species from the Safari. Each section is well worth visiting so make sure you take your time to get the full experience the Phoenix Zoo has to offer.
