It’s only common knowledge to follow up any gratitude with a thoughtful “You’re welcome.” In Germany this is no different. Being polite is a very big deal in Germany and you never want to forget your manners when speaking the language.

“You’re Welcome” is simply pronounced “Bitte” this is the most common form of your welcome and can be used in any situation you find yourself in. Interestingly enough “Bitte” is a very versatile word and can take on many different meanings in the language. It can translate to “Please” “Please do” and “Pardon”. You can decide what is being said by the context of the situation.

Just a quick tip. When learning this phrase remember You are welcome. The welcome does not belong to you. If you try to learn Your welcome in German, it will not translate the same as You’re”. This seems to be a common mistake
