Learning how to say Monday in Spanish is easy! The word for Monday in Spanish is lunes. Pronounced “loo-nace”, this term can be used when referring to the day of the week or asking what day it is, as in “¿Qué día es hoy?” (What day is today?). When talking about a specific date that happens on a Monday, you would use the expression “el lunes” (the Monday). For example, if you wanted to talk about your birthday being on a Monday, you could say: “Mi cumpleaños es el lunes.”

Another way of expressing that something will happen on a Monday would be with the phrase “el próximo lunes” (next/coming/following Monday). For example: “Nos reuniremos el próximo lunes para hablar sobre el proyecto.” (We will meet next Monday to talk about the project.) If you want to ask someone what they are doing on a certain day of the week such as Mondays, then use “¿Qué vas hacer este lunes?” (What are you going to do this coming/following/upcoming Monday?) If someone asked you this question then your response might be something like: Voy al trabajo este lunes. (I’m going work this upcoming/coming/following monday.)

In short, learning how to say and use “Monday” in Spanish only takes some basic knowledge of vocabulary and grammar rules. With practice and repetition soon enough it’ll become second nature!
