Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum – Tucson, Arizona
As one of our favorite zoos in Arizona, the city of Tucson doesn’t disappoint with its wide variety of animals and breathtaking views of the mountains. The facility also boasts an amazing museum, botanical garden, aquarium, and art gallery. There is a little bit of something for everyone.

There is a total of close to 100 acres at the facility, divided into several different sections. Some are a variety of buildings that host local artworks native to the area, while others are open areas such as the botanical gardens and zoo park. Within the zoo you’ll find mountain lions, hummingbirds, and many other wildlife local to the Tucson area.
Be sure you take a full day to explore the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. They do an amazing job at showcasing animals native to the state, while still giving a great educational lesson on conservation efforts to help keep the wildlife save and thriving. When you are done, finish your visit with a stroll through the botanical gardens and take in Tucson’s amazing wildflowers and cacti.
