Heritage Park Zoological Sanctuary – Prescott, Arizona
For those who live or are traveling in Northern Arizona, the city of Prescott is home to a great zoo that features a wide range of animals local to the area. With it’s wilderness backdrop, you’ll think you were in a completely different state.

The Heritage Park in Prescott isn’t your normal zoo. The parks primary responsibility is to help animals are either no longer have a home in the wild or are too injured to even survive on themselves. It’s a great sanctuary when it comes to making sure no animal is left behind and gives each species a place to live within their own natural habitats.
The Prescott Zoo isn’t the largest in the state by far and is roughly a 10 acre facility where you can still enjoy up and close views. What does set them apart though is they are one of only a a handful of zoos in the world who help the endangered Mexican grey wolf. Not only do they help breed the population before setting them back into the wild, but they also work on training techniques to make sure they will continue to thrive once outside of the facility.
Other animals you will enjoy are tigers, birds, and several different types of reptiles.
