Founded back in the 1870s, The Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden is the second oldest zoo facility in the US. A hundred years later it was accredited as a National Historic Landmark and to this day you can feel it’s robust history as you wonder the place and view over 500 animals. As far as an aquatic center, the zoo does have an aquarium section home to manatee, alligators, and pythons.

Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden Aquarium Exhibit
We are going to focus just on the aquarium section in this post which is the Ott M. Buddig Manatee Springs. Constructed back in 1999 at almost 5 million dollars, this aquarium facility has been awarded both the Significant Achievement Exhibit and Munson Aquatic Conservation Exhibit. There are over 45 different species with close up viewing of manatee, alligators, crocodiles, and pythons. The 120,000 gallon tank has 3 main viewing areas and gives you a feel as if you were in Florida.
The Cincinnati has ranked twice as the best zoo in the US.
