Meaher State Park

Another great option just outside of town is Meaher State Park located in Spanish Fort across Mobile Bay from Daphne’s historic downtown district. The offer one of the larger RV and tent campsites in the area including 61 RV spots with 20,30, and 50 amp electrical, sewer, and water hookups. Each spot has individual tables and grills for cooking. As far as tent camping there are 10 spots available and also include fire pits, tables, and electrical hookups.

The highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time in order to avoid any risk of not getting a campsite. You can either call them or place a reservation online.

Weeks Bay Reserve

For the true campers who want the full rustic experience, check out Weeks Bay Reserve located about 15 minutes east of downtown Daphne off Highway 98 towards Fairhope on Fish River Road. Here you will find primitive campsites dispersed throughout the parks wetlands. There are no amenities provided, but there are plenty of attractions nearby like kayaking through Weeks Bay Plantation Wildlife Management Area or visiting historic Magnolia Springs which was once home to author Eudora Welty.

Big Creek Campground
For something closer into town yet still offering an escape from civilization try Big Creek Campground situated just north off US98 between Montrose Rd & Whispering Pines Drive less than five minutes away from downtown Daphne. While only having 10 sites, each one comes with 20, 30, and 50 Amp hookups as well as water and sewer. This little gem provides everything needed when needing a nice place to stay.
