Austin Aquarium

By

The Austin Aquarium opened it’s doors in 2014 and is only one of two facilities in the United States to offer people the ability to play and hold Lemurs. With over 8,000 mammals and 35 exhibits, this aquatic facility attracts visitors from all over the world to catch a glimpse of life under the sea.

Austin Aquarium Details

The founders of this facility really made sure to make all attractions and events family friendly. In fact they even offer free admission to anyone who fostered a child (the owners fostered 31 of their own and have a great appreciate for any family willing to help). Most exhibits are interactive and they encourage all age groups to get hands on with feeding the sharks, petting the lemurs, stingrays, and lizards, all while learning the importance of saving the marine life habitats.

You don’t have to get up close and personal with the animals if you don’t want to. The Austin Aquarium also offers amazing views of giant jellyfish, live coral reefs with tropical fish swimming all around, and even behind the scene tours on what it takes to keep the facility operational. The end result is to offer the younger generation inspiration and a greater appreciation for life under the sea. Even if one child grows up to be a biologist, the aquarium will have served its purpose.

Austin Aquarium Exhibits

  • Lorikeet Aviary – Enjoy an amazing interactive experience with Parakeet and Lorikeets

  • Giant Pacific Octopus – One of the main attractions to enjoy
