Ainsworth Hot Springs – British Columbia, CA

Ainsworth has many things to do, but their hot springs is by far their top tourist attraction. Not only is it open every day of the year, but their caves are a huge hit as you relax in natural springs water. The hotel resort itself has some luxury accommodations to go along with their thermal poos including a restaurant and spa treatments.

Ainsworth Cody Caves

Just north of the city, the limestone caves have an eerie feel until you start to appreciate the historical significance from the years of mineral waters flowing through the rock to create this beautiful cave springs experience. There are tours that run most months and will give you a good history lesson on Ainsworth and how the springs were created. The waters in the caves are roughly 108 degrees.

Ainsworth Hot Springs Resort offers you a four season escape located on the west shore of Kootenay Lake near Nelson.

Ainsworth Hot Springs

After a long day of hiking, camping, or sightseeing around the town it’s time to relax in the healing waters of the pools. As the water comes from the caves, it’s pumped into their larger pool area at roughly 96 degrees. The history of Ainsworth Hot Springs, BC originated from the Ktunaxa people who used it as a healing remedy after hunting all day. The property today is owned by Yaqan Nikiy in order to keep the land in tact from the original people who first came upon it.

The hot springs are open every day from 10am – 9pm. If you stay at the hotel resort you get access to the pools at 8am for a little more privacy until the larger crowds come in. The hotel does have good accommodations and amenities to make sure you have the best stay possible within the Kootenay Mountain Range. With flat screen TVs, granite bathrooms, wooden cabinetry, it’s a nice slice of heaven as you tour British Columbia. The hotel resort also have everything from single family rooms to lake view suites.

Child (3-12) – 10.00; under 3 – free
Family (2 adults/2 children ages 3-17) – 40.00 extra child 9.00

Ainsworth Hot Springs Camping

There are many options for camping around the area if you’d like to be one with nature. From RV hookups to campgrounds with fire pits, there are many options depending on what you prefer. The best part of camping is the nighttime sky and views of the mountains as you cozy up to the fire.
