Details about Yampah Hot Springs

The main source of water for Yampah Hot Springs is an underground geothermal aquifer that rises up through fissures in the rock beneath Mount Crested Butte. As this warm water flows into two large pools at about 125 degrees Fahrenheit, it mixes with cooler mineral-rich spring water which helps to bring down its temperature so visitors can enjoy soaking in it without getting burned! It’s said that these thermal waters contain minerals such as sodium bicarbonate, calcium sulfate, magnesium chloride, potassium chloride and sulfur dioxide which are believed to have healing properties beneficial to our health and wellbeing.

Visitors come from all over to experience this magical oasis nestled among towering pine trees on a picturesque mountain slope near Glenwood Springs. Soaking in these warm mineral waters while surrounded by nature’s beauty can be incredibly therapeutic and calming – perfect for relieving stress or just taking some time out of your busy life to relax! You may even see some wildlife here including elk and deer who love coming down every now then quench their thirst from the nearby creek fed by Yampah’s thermal streams!

Even though there are no facilities provided at Yampah Hot Springs (like showers or changing rooms), many people still choose to visit because they appreciate being able to connect with nature without any distractions or amenities – just pure relaxation amidst stunning scenery! For those who don’t mind roughing it out a bit more than most people would prefer there is also camping available close by where you can spend multiple days enjoying everything that this location has offer. From swimming holes & fishing spots along creek side trails to simply sitting back & basking in peaceful silence watching clouds drift across dramatic mountain peaks. If you’re looking for an amazing escape into nature while still having access modern conveniences like restaurants & shops not far away then look no further than Yampah Hot Springs – truly one of Colorado’s hidden gems waiting to be explored.
