Boulder Falls is a scenic waterfall located near the town of Boulder, Colorado. It is one of many natural wonders in the area and a very popular attraction due to being just a short drive from Denver. The falls are about 30 feet high and have been described as “a beautiful curtain of water”.

During the spring snowmelt season, they can be quite spectacular to visit. To get to the waterfall it’s a very easy hike along a trail that follows South Boulder Creek for about two miles until you reach your destination. Depending the time of year you may also get to spot wildlife such as deer, elk and even bears! Once at the base of the falls you will find several large boulders scattered around which make great spots to sit and take in all its beauty.
Boulder Falls also serves as an important part in maintaining healthy ecosystems in the area by maintaining healthy streams for fish species like cutthroat trout and providing much needed water supply for local wildlife populations including elk, deer and black bears.
If you can get away for the weekend, there aren’t many better places to camp that near Boulder Falls. At night, those lucky enough to experience this magical place will find themselves surrounded by sparkling stars with the sounds of rushing waters.
