Wiscoy Falls – New York
Out in the middle of nowhere in upstate New York is Wiscoy Falls. It’s about an hour drive south of Rochester in a rather small community. There are more popular waterfalls pretty close by making this the ideal place to go if you’d like to have a little more privacy and seclusion.

At the far top of the falls is a damn that feeds the water down into two sections of cascading waters. The Upper Wiscoy Falls is roughly 25 feet high that then leads down to the Lower Wiscoy Waterfall where most travelers tend to hang out. There is a swimming hole that is perfect during the summer time where you can cool down after hiking around the area. You’ll also see people walking their dog or even bird watching through the lush forests and vegitation.

To access Wiscoy Falls, there are several trails on both sides of the creek that will take you to your destination. Once you park it’s a very easy hike up to the falls and even the dam if you want to go that far up. There is a bit of climbing involved if you want to go from the lower to upper sections of the waterfalls, although even that is extremely easy and anybody can do it. What makes this place one of our favorite attractions in the area is the breathtaking views and ability to get up close and personal with the water. Also again because it’s not well known and there are other waterfalls in the area, it’s the perfect way to spend a day with a little privacy and your own personal falls. Happy Exploring!
