Details about Hamilton Falls

At 25 feet high and 10 feet wide, the falls offer breathtaking views that can be enjoyed from several vantage points around its base or from the top of the cliff overlooking it. Visitors can take hikes along the various trails that pass through mossy glens and over rocky outcrops to reach the waterfall’s crest where they will find spectacular views of Jamaica Valley below.

There are also rock climbing routes available too! The area surrounding Hamilton Falls is also home to abundant wildlife including black bear, deer, otters, coyotes and birds like bald eagles and osprey. On sunny days when conditions are right you may even catch a glimpse of rainbows dancing across its face!

Hiking Trails at Hamilton Falls

Their are two trails that lead to the Hamilton Falls waterfall. The first trail is an easy 0.5 mile loop that leads hikers around the falls and up to the observation deck at the top where they can take in stunning views of the surrounding forest and mountains. The second trail is a strenuous 2-mile climb up steep switchbacks to reach an overlook with even more spectacular views of Hamilton Falls.

The hike begins by crossing over a bridge from which you have your first view of Hamilton Falls cascading down into its pool below. From there, it’s just a short walk along flat terrain until you come to the beginning of the switchbacks. This part requires some physical effort as you ascend almost 500 feet in elevation, but it’s nothing compared to what awaits when you reach the top: breathtaking panoramic vistas.
