Details about Firehole Falls

Both offer breathtaking views as they cascade down into a deep canyon before flowing into Madison River below. Upper Firehole Falls is an impressive 45-foot high drop that cascades down into a large pool at its base. This section offers some great opportunities to take pictures with its unique rock formations surrounding it on both sides.

From here visitors can also see plenty of wildlife such as bighorn sheep, elk, deer, and even bears if lucky! There are several trails around it for those who want to explore further up river or just take in all its beauty from different angles. Lower Firehole Falls is slightly smaller than its upper counterpart but still provides spectacular views nonetheless. As you make your way through this section you will notice more rapids and small pools along the way which makes it ideal for swimming and fishing during warmer months when conditions allow it safely without any danger from currents or undertows.

Additionally, there are many scenic overlooks where photographers can capture amazing shots looking out over this majestic waterfall stretching across the horizon line . Both sections have become popular tourist destinations due to their stunning beauty that brings life to otherwise barren landscapes within Yellowstone National Park . Visitors should plan enough time so they can fully enjoy everything these falls have to offer including camping, hiking trails, fishing spots, picnic tables, hot springs areas, plus much more! With so much natural splendor available right at our fingertips – no wonder why millions flock each year to witness firsthand one of nature’s most beautiful gifts – Firehole Falls!
