Details about Deer Creek Falls

The falls themselves are approximately 15 feet tall and flow over an exposed cliff face that has been carved out by years of erosion from the creek below. The view from atop the cliffs is breathtaking as you can see for miles up and downstream of the creek’s course through Bidwell Park. There are plenty of opportunities to take pictures or just sit back and admire nature’s beauty while hearing the sound of rushing water echoing off the canyon walls.

The falls are accessible by a short hike from the Deer Creek Trailhead off Highway 36, near Mineral and Lassen Volcanic NationalPark. The trail to the falls winds through a shady forest of pine trees and redwoods before reaching an open meadow with views of nearby ridges and peaks. As visitors make their way down into the canyon they will come across several small cascades that eventually lead to Deer Creek Falls.

Deer Creek Falls offers visitors an opportunity to explore some unique terrain in Chico, California. It’s a great spot for hikers, bird watchers, photographers, or anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in nature away from city life. With its tranquil setting surrounded by wilderness and wildlife, it makes for an ideal outdoor experience!
