Details about Bridal Veil Falls in Utah

The falls are made up of two separate cascades falling from a height of 607 feet (185 meters). The upper cascade drops about 350 feet (107 meters), while the lower cascade plunges another 250 feet (76 meters). This gives visitors an amazing view of both parts at once. The water rushes over layers of limestone and sandstone before eventually reaching its final destination in Bridal Veil Creek below. The waterfall was named for its resemblance to a bride’s veil, which can be seen from many vantage points along the trail that leads to the falls.

A part of what makes this waterfall so special is that it is easily accessible by car. There is a road leading right up to the top, where you can park your vehicle and take in all that nature has to offer here. The hike up to Bridal Veil Falls is an easy 1-mile round trip walk with plenty of scenic views along the way. From the top you can look out over Utah Lake and take in some breathtaking panoramas of Mount Timpanogos and other nearby peaks.

This route is more challenging than the lower path, so it’s best suited for experienced hikers familiar with navigating steep inclines and loose rocks or gravel surfaces. If you make it to the top, you’ll be rewarded with magnificent panoramic vistas from 7,000 feet above sea level!

There’s also a lower path around Bridal Veil Falls which takes about 45 minutes round trip (depending on how often you stop!). It meanders alongside Pine Creek where visitors can observe wildlife such as deer or elk grazing nearby. As you get closer to your destination you’ll be greeted by majestic views overlooking Provo Canyon before arriving at base of this impressive waterfall.

2. Camping: – The campsites at Bridal Veil Falls are well maintained and offer plenty of amenities for visitors like water hookups, fire rings, picnic tables and more. There are also restrooms with flush toilets available for your convenience. During summer months you can take advantage of free hot showers located near the entrance station as well as a dump station if you need it.

For some extra privacy there are dispersed camping sites scattered throughout the forest just off from one of several dirt roads available in the area. However these sites do not have any facilities or services provided so be sure to come prepared!

3. Rock Climbing: Experienced rock climbers will find plenty of challenging routes at Bridal Veil Falls due to its steep cliffs and rocky terrain. With proper safety equipment and techniques, it’s possible to ascend up towards the top of the falls or traverse along one side while taking in spectacular views below. Just make sure you check conditions before attempting any climbs!

There’s also a number activities available within walking distance including zip lines across Bridal Veil Falls and horseback riding tours through Provo Canyon.

Directions to Bridal Veil Falls in Utah

To get to Bridal Veil Falls from Salt Lake City: Map

Take I-15 South until you reach US-189 South/Orem. Follow US-189 South for about 15 miles until you reach Nunn’s Park Road (SR 92). Turn left onto Nunn’s Park Road and follow it for 4 miles until you see a sign that says “Bridal Veil Falls Parking”. Turn right into the parking lot and follow the signs to the trailhead.

The hike up to Bridal Veil Falls is relatively easy but can be quite steep at times. From the parking lot, start off by going east on an old dirt road which will lead you past several homes before entering Provo Canyon State Recreation Area (following signs for “Upper Falls”).

This road will eventually turn into a hiking trail that goes through some nice forested areas with plenty of shade along the way. After about 0.8 miles you’ll arrive at a fork in the path.
