Details about Bear Creek Falls

The falls are situated on Bear Creek, which flows from the Uncompahgre Gorge to the Uncompahgre River. The falls cascade down a steep cliff face and plunge into an emerald pool below. This scenic waterfall is surrounded by wilderness and tall cliffs that add to its beauty and serenity.

Views of this amazing waterfall can be found atop a bridge overlooking it or a short hike down for a refreshing dip in its swimming hole during warmer months. The area around Bear Creek Waterfall offers plenty of opportunities for additional activities such as hiking, camping, rock climbing, and more! Hiking trails lead up to the top of the gorge so visitors can get close enough to feel the mist from the cascading waters as they traverse through winding paths. Rock climbers will enjoy scaling the walls near the base of this mighty falls while anglers may find success fishing for trout at nearby Bear Creek Reservoir, Clear Lake or Twin Lakes Reservoirs.
