Waterfowl Lakes Campground

Waterfowl Lakes Campground

By

Waterfowl Lakes Campground is right in the heart of the Rockies and the ideal spot for those wanting a true backcountry experience. We put this as one of the best areas of Canada for their beautiful scenery and views as you camp directly on Waterfowl Lake. As you wake up you can enjoy snow capped mountains and turquoise blue water as you prepare for your adventure.

Waterfowl Lakes Campground has a total of 116 campsites to choose from and are broken out into three different sections. The first is for RVs (up to 24 feet in length). The second is for tent camping down near Waterfowl lower lake. The third is several walk-in tent camping sites. Whichever you choose you will still get magnificent views of the Canadian Rockies.

Waterfowl Lakes Campground Amenities

– Firepits
– Bathrooms
– Community Kitchen
– Amphitheater
– Dump Station
– Food Storage

Hiking is the most popular activity in the area and with only a short distance you can head up to the upper lake which is a little more majestic than the lower. If you have a National Park fishing license you can even test your luck and catch dinner for the night. If you want to tour Banff outside of the campsite, you can also try several hikes to Cirque Lake or Chephren Lake. Some of these trails can be grueling so pack accordingly and see if you can reach the summit.

Waterfowl Fees and Address

6 people and 2 vehicles are allowed at each campsite. It’s $21.50 a night or $30.30 if you plan on building a fire. Wood is provided for the additional $9. It’s first come first serve so make sure to get hear early during the peak season.
