Trillium Falls in Redwoods National Park is a fantastic place to go for a day of hiking. The trailhead starts at the bottom of Tall Trees Grove, and winds through an ancient old growth redwood forest, up to Trillium Falls. Along the way, you will see some spectacular views of the surrounding valleys and mountains. The trail itself is 4 miles round trip with about 500 feet of elevation gain. It’s mostly shaded by tall trees which makes it great for hot summer days! There are several small streams that cross the path so be sure to bring plenty of water with you on your hike as well as sunscreen if needed.

Once you reach Trillium Falls, there is a large pool at the base where you can take a dip or even just sit back and enjoy nature’s beauty. Consider taking one of the longer trails in Redwoods National Park such as Lady Bird Johnson Trail or Prairie Creek Trail Loop.
