Fort Lauderdale Beach is undoubtedly one of the more popular places in the greater Fort Lauderdale area to have some seaside fun. The site is known for its abundance of activities both beachside and closer inland.

If you are coming in for a family beach day or just wanting to explore what this great city offers, then the turquoise waters and golden shores are sure to please.

The area features public beach access and a 2-mile promenade that stretches along the coast and offers beachgoers a perfect place to go for a stroll.

Activities

Swimming, sunbathing, jet skiing, parasailing, snorkeling, fishing, and much more. Fort Lauderdale Beach is a hub of fun that can keep you and your crew entertained for days.

There are ample spots to rent gear like bikes or jet skis, and even surf schools that offer daily classes and equipment rentals.

The beach is also known to host fantastic music festivals throughout the year. Some notable ones are the Tortuga Music Festival and The Great Day at the Beach.

This is a high trafficked beach, so you can find: bathrooms, showers, shaded areas, parking, and much more.

Due to the location in the heart of the strip of beaches that make up the Golden Coast, you can find many places to dine and shop within walking distance.

The Hugh Taylor Birch State Park is right near this beach and offers a wild oasis in the hustle and bustle of the surrounding seaside city.

If you want to take to the seas, you can always check out Bluefoot Pirate Adventures, which offers daily outings on their pirate ship. The tour takes you through the Intracoastal Waterway and can be an excellent way to spend a few hours with the family.

Fun Facts

The Hugh Taylor Birch State Park was gifted to the city by the park’s namesake.

If you want to go for a midnight stroll near the water, the beach is open to the public 24 hours a day.
