Details about Barberville Falls

It is one of the tallest waterfalls in the state, measuring at over 80 feet high and 100 feet wide. The waterfall cascades down a steep ravine surrounded by wilderness, creating an awe-inspiring sight for visitors to enjoy. The falls are part of the Ausable River, which flows through nearby Lake Placid before reaching Barberville Falls.

Visitors can enjoy breathtaking views from atop one of the many overlooks on either side of the creek or take advantage of easy access points down below for swimming or fishing. There are also numerous trails that meander through nearby woods providing visitors with scenic vistas and plenty of opportunities for exploring wildlife.

A few picnic tables have been set up near some overlooks so visitors can enjoy lunch with their families while taking in mother nature. The area surrounding Barberville Falls is rich in history as it served as an important transportation route during colonial times when Native Americans used it to travel between villages and trading posts throughout Upstate New York. This legacy remains today as many local organizations work hard to preserve this natural wonder by conducting regular clean-up efforts at the site and educating locals about its importance in regional history.
