Water Parks in Nevada

By

When someone hears Las Vegas, Nevada, the clubs, casinos, and nightlife are the attractions that come to mind. Because of how the state is marketed, it’s unconventional for tourists to hear that there are family-friendly activities you can do in Nevada.

However, Nevada is actually a city that’s home to several waterparks that’ll take tourists on an adrenaline-filled adventure. Thus, if you’re bringing kids to Nevada, make sure to include any of their famous waterparks in your itinerary.

In this post, we’re excited to share with you some of the best waterparks in Nevada that both children and adults will enjoy. Read on to learn about the top three waterparks in the state, as well as some helpful tips to keep in mind so you can fully relish your stay in Nevada.

Best Waterparks in Nevada

Here are three waterparks in Nevada that deserve to be visited while you’re in the city.

Cowabunga Bay, Henderson

In addition to having a 1960s theme, the Cowabunga Bay waterpark is perfect for thrill-seeking tourists. This waterpark has nine water slides, a lazy river, and much more. The majority of the rides in Cowabunga Bay are intense, particularly the Beach Blanket Banzai ride and Point Panic.

When riding the Beach Blanket Banzai ride, you’ll be carried to a height of around 60’ by a conveyor. Once you’re around this height, the conveyor will then race over 600 feet with 180-degree turns at thrilling speeds. With all of the twisting and turning involved in the Beach Blanket Banzai, it’s certain that you won’t forget the experience of hopping onto this ride.

On the other hand, if you want to take it up a notch, make sure not to miss out on Point Panic. This ride involves you grabbing on a tube so you can run down a fully enclosed, pitch-black slide. However, don’t worry if you’re afraid of the dark since there are a lot of light features that’ll assure your safety.

If you want a relaxing time in Cowabunga Bay, you can opt for the Boardwalk Bay and Caban-A-Rama Pool. Both of these attractions are more relaxed as you can float and lounge away, making them perfect if you want to unwind in Nevada.

Whether you simply enjoy the Kiddie Pool or are excited to try their famous Hoover Half Pipe, you can rest assured that you won’t find any dull moments at Wet’n’Wild waterpark. In addition to the Hoover Half Pipe, Wet’n’Wild also hosts fun community events, like movie nights in the pool. When you or other family members get hungry from all of the rides, grab a bite at the Agave Grill or Oasis Cafe, both of which serve amazing chicken tenders and burgers.

If the Nevada heat is too much for you, you can rent a cabana so you’ll be safe from the sun. Lastly, Wet’n’Wild waterpark has well-trained staff members to ensure all of your needs are met.

Tips for Going to Waterparks in Nevada

It’s important to know some tips to follow when going to a waterpark. By doing so, you can fully enjoy your day.

Prepare Basic Items To Bring: Before heading to a waterpark, it’s best if you’ve already placed these items in your bag:

  • Towels.
  • If you’re planning to shower before exiting the waterpark, bring a travel-sized shampoo and soap.
  • Waterproof sunscreen.
  • If you have any non-potty trained kids, don’t forget to pack some swim diapers.
  • Waterproof watches for teens. This way, they won’t lose track of time.
  • Plenty of water and snacks.
  • Extra clothes.
  • An extra bag to put wet clothes in.
  • Baby wipes.
  • If you want to rent a locker, have some change.

Arrive Early: Since the slides at a Nevada waterpark are popular, expect that there’s going to be a long queue. If you don’t want to waste time in line, arrive early. Arriving early will also give you more time to try all of the slides or enjoy the wave pool and other amenities offered by the waterpark.

Bring More Adults Than Children: It’s highly difficult to manage children when they’re at a waterpark. To ensure their safety, have a solid adult-to-child ratio. You can also instruct a teen family member to keep a close eye on children.

Begin Planning Your Trips to the Best Waterparks in Nevada

The Nevada heat can be unforgiving for tourists, especially during the summer when the temperature reaches extreme highs. However, the heat shouldn’t prevent you from visiting Nevada, especially since the city is home to famous waterparks. So, if you’re looking for traditional waterparks, mega waterparks, or a simple pool, it’s a guarantee that Nevada has a perfect venue for you to combat the heat while having some splashing fun.
