With over 850 falls scattered all throughout the state, Tennessee is one of the best places to visit if you are looking for scenic hikes with cascading waters. In all our adventures, we truly believe Tennessee is in the top 3 when it comes to visiting the most epic and beautiful waterfalls in the United States. Most aren’t even hard to get too and within a short and easy hike you can be cooling off in the swimming holes, cliff jumping, or just taking in the beauty of the surrounding landscapes.
There are thousands of things to do in Tennessee and it can be easy to get lost in the big attractions. However, if you can take a few hours out of your trip and want a more relaxing and peaceful day, check out the map below and find a perfect waterfall to enjoy. Happy Exploring!
You’ll quickly notice that most of the waterfalls we mentioned above on the interactive map on more on the eastern side of the state. Chattanooga has probably the most condensed amount of falls near the city, followed by Gatlinburg. It’s no surprise seeing how these areas are lush in forest and wilderness and most hikes will take you to one or more scenic cascading waterfalls. However, like we said before, there are hundreds of waterfalls all throughout Tennessee and you’ll also discover many within the 50+ state parks, nestled within cities such as Nashville, and of course dispersed in most forest areas.
