Nambe Falls – New Mexico

Nambe Falls is a beautiful cascading waterfall located in Santa Fe County, New Mexico. The falls are situated on the Nambe River and have been an attraction for many visitors to the area since it was first discovered by Spanish settlers in the 17th century. The waterfall is about 30 feet tall and consists of several tiers that make up its impressive beauty.

The water at Nambe Falls originates from springs high up in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains above Santa Fe and flows down into a deep gorge where it forms multiple pools before finally spilling over the top tier of rocks to create a picturesque cascade. Visitors can enjoy hiking trails along both sides of the river which provide spectacular views of this majestic natural wonder as well as nearby wildlife such as deer, elk, wild turkeys, bald eagles and more.

In addition to these activities, there are also opportunities for fishing in certain areas near Nambe Falls so anglers can take advantage of this unique opportunity to catch some trout or other freshwater species that inhabit these waters. In terms of accessibility, Nambe Falls is quite easy to reach via car or foot from Santa Fe with only a short drive away from downtown (about 15 minutes). There are various parking lots available close by which makes getting here very convenient even if you don’t have your own vehicle; however due to its popularity amongst tourists during peak season times one should plan accordingly when visiting this location so they do not arrive too late!
