Just north of Amelia City on Amelia Island, you’ll find a small beachside town that invites guests with its charming vibe and fantastic access to their beautiful Atlantic shoreline. Fernandina Beach is the perfect location for those looking to indulge in the area’s beauty and feel like a local in this reasonably secluded area.
The beaches here are clean and filled with gorgeous white sand. The water is inviting and perfect for water sports, like surfing or boogie boarding.
There are many places to find public beach access, but several beachside parks offer some amazing amenities and recreational activities.
Main Beach Park is certainly the most popular in the area, but just up the island, you can find North Beach Park if you are interested in a more intimate and secluded experience.
Both parks will have facilities like parking and restrooms.
The town itself is charming and filled with boutique shops and some fantastic seaside dining options. Make sure you take a few hours to explore the island’s interior, and you can find yourself at some unique and welcoming places.
Activities
Swimming, sunbathing, surfing, snorkeling, lounging by the water, volleyball, and much more.
Main Beach Park is home to several sand volleyball courts. During the height of the season, you can expect to find someone to play with on the sand.
Amenities
Restrooms, showers, a skate park, large green space, volleyball courts, and much more can be found at the beach parks in the area.
If you choose to find another beach access, don’t expect to find much other than a place to walk over the dunes.
Because of this, parking can be a pain to find. Your best bet is to try and find a spot at one of the beach parks mentioned above.
Lifeguards are on duty during the summer months.
