Boulder Hot Springs – Montana
Montana is well known for it’s wilderness and it’s no surprise that one can find many hidden gems as they explore the states vast forests. One such gem is Boulder Hot Springs which is nestled alongside Deerlodge National Forest. This historic and rustic resort offers the perfect weekend retreat as you soak in Montana’s natural mineral waters before setting off on your next adventure.
Boulder Hot Springs offers 4 different hot springs areas for your enjoyment with the geothermal source of the mineral waters very close by. Starting at a blistering 150-170 degrees, it is piped into the resort and cooled down in order to avoid boiling oneself. The first hot springs section is their outdoor pool which gives panoramic views of the Deerlodge National Forest. It is some of the most breathtaking views we have seen while soaking and leaves you quickly forgetting about your day to day troubles. The average temperature of this outdoor pool is 98 degrees.
The second section of pools is only available to women and has both an indoor tub and a cooler plunge pool. The indoor hot springs tub averages around 104 degrees with the plunge pool at a much colder 60 degrees. These more private areas can still host 8-10 people, but are often vacant where you can get some alone time and away from any crowds.
As you might guess, the third section of pools is only available to men. The indoor natural springs tub also averages around 104 degrees.
Accommodations are available to anyone who’d like to stay a night or two. Each hotel room features pumped in geothermal mineral waters for private soaks as well.
