With over 2 million visitors each year, the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is a go to destination for locals and visitors checking out the state of Ohio. Located in Liberty Township, it’s a short drive from the actual city of Columbus. The facility has gained world wild recognition and has been named the top zoo in the United states in both 2009 and 2012.

Columbus Aquarium Exhibits
The shores region hosts several great exhibits for you to explore including:
- Manatee Coast – Opened over 20 years ago, it’s the most popular exhibit featuring manatees, pelicans, stingrays, sea turtles, and a wide range of exotic fish. The indoor facilities boasts a 190,000 gallon tank and is only one of a few facilities in the US to have manatee.
- Discovery Reef – Hosting one of the largest coral reefs in the United States, you can get a taste of the underwater sea with sharks, eels, seahorses, and fish.
- Touch a Sea Star – If you want a true experience of aquatic life, head over to this exhibit where you can touch a sea star or sea urchin
